Toddler’s Morning Out
1-Day Program
A child may enter this program between the ages of 12 and 18 months. The 1-Day Program meets on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. in the Nursery. There are eight children with one teacher and one assistant.
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $1,025 for the year.
2-Day Program
There are 2 two-day programs for children from 18-26 months. The younger group meets Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. The slightly older group meets Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. During the second semester, the Thursday/Friday class will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. There are eight children with one teacher and one assistant in each group.
Tuition for 2012-2013 Monday/Tuesday class is $1,975 for the year. Tuition for 2012-2013 Thursday/Friday class is $2,030 for the year.
Two-Year-Old Toddlers
2-Day Program
The 2-year-old child entering this program typically will not turn 3 until sometime during or after the spring of the school year. This 2-Day Program meets on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in a self-contained classroom. There are 10 children with one teacher and one assistant.
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $2,090 for the year.
3-Day Program
The 2-year-old child in this program will typically turn 3 sometime between September and February after entering this class. The 3-Day Program meets on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. in a self-contained classroom. There are 12 children with one teacher and one assistant.
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $2,575 for the year.
Three to Five Years Old
4-Day Program
A four-day program for 3 to 3 1/2 year-olds meets from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in a self-contained classroom. There are 15 children with one teacher and one assistant.
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $2,920 for the year.
5-Day Program
A five-day program for ages 3 1/2-5 meets from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Part of the morning program is spent in separate age-group circles and part in open, mixed age-group, free-choice activity time. There are approximately 52 children with three teachers and four assistants.
Tuition for 2012-2013 is $3,460 for the year.
Admissions Policy
St. Stephen’s Preschool accepts applications at any time during the year. It is the policy of St. Stephens’s Preschool to give a first preference for enrollment to parishioners of St. Stephen’s Church and siblings of children in the program, then to the children of the community. Within each group, date of application is key. Once enrolled, your child receives priority for the next year’s appropriate classroom.

School Observation
Visitors are always welcome. We strongly suggest that parents of prospective students come to observe the class being considered and then visit the rest of the school in order to view the total program. Please contact the director to schedule a visit for you and your child to see the school.
Parental Involvement
Parents are always welcome at St. Stephen’s Preschool. We believe that the involvement of parents greatly enriches a child’s school experience; therefore we have a strong parent volunteer program and encourage all of our parents to participate in some way. Our volunteers provide invaluable help in making our program work so successfully.
Tuition and Payment Schedule
Tuition may be paid in full on June 1, or it may be paid in three installments: 60% due on June 1, 20% on September 15 and 20% on November 15. A nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $200, which applies toward tuition, is due at the time of acceptance of a space in the program. Please make all checks payable to St. Stephen’s Preschool and mail to 6000 Grove Ave., Richmond, VA 23226.
There is financial aid available for students in the Preschool. To receive an application for assistance, contact the office at the school. A small committee of the Board of Governors makes decisions regarding financial aid.
